[HealthyTribes] Statewide Health Improvement Plan - Health Equity section (announcement for the blogs & listservs)

The Public Health Division is seeking input on the Health Equity section of the Statewide Health Improvement Plan, titled Oregon's Healthy Future: A Plan for Empowering Communities. The draft Health Equity section is attached.  The full document from September (which does not include the revised health equity section) can be found at http://public.health.oregon.gov/PROVIDERPARTNERRESOURCES/PUBLICHEALTHACCREDITATION/Pages/HealthImprovement.aspx.

The Oregon Public Health Division is in the process of applying for accreditation from the Public Health Accreditation Board. One of the prerequisites for this accreditation is a Statewide Health Improvement Plan, along with a Community Health Assessment and an agency strategic plan.  These documents and other information about the accreditation process can be found at http://public.health.oregon.gov/ProviderPartnerResources/PublicHealthAccreditation/Pages/AccreditationResources.aspx.

The Statewide Health Improvement Plan is meant to be implemented by the entire public health community, including government agencies, community-based organizations, businesses, and others. As you read this health equity section and other parts of the Statewide Health Improvement Plan, you can think about how your organization can assist in the implementation of the plan.
