Hello TPEP coordinators,

Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to attend the Tobacco Point of Sale (POS)/Retail environment webinar. Although this was an optional webinar, we wanted you be aware of this movement and have access to the materials.

Both research evidence and tobacco industry documents agree that exposure to tobacco industry marketing, advertising and promotions in the retail environments or POS, prompts smoking initiation, encourages tobacco use and undermines quit attempts. Tobacco is cheap, easy to get and available everywhere! Your work is critical to fight the war in the store.

Technical assistance is available through the HPCDP Surveillance and Evaluation Team for your local tobacco retail assessments. If you would like to request TA for this work, please complete the Local Evaluation Technical Assistance Request Form (LETARF) and submit to your liaison.

Several documents have recently been uploaded to the HPCDP Connection<https://partners.health.oregon.gov/Partners/HPCDPConnection/Pages/TechnicalAssistance.aspx> (Login- HPCDP, Password- Communitie12)

  1. Counter Tools Audit Forms
  2. Letter to the Retailer
  3. Tobacco Retail Licensing Report

Please contact your liaison with any questions or concerns.

Thanks,
Kim La Croix & Steve Fiala
