Good morning. You are invited to attend the 2013/14 Tribal in-person training "Sharper Advocacy: The tools to move tribal policies and influence the process with strategic planning, effective communication & best practices". The training will take place on February 10, 2014 on Confederated Tribe of Siletz Indians of Oregon ground.
[cid:image004.jpg at 01CEE9D5.B0DA1070]Oregon Health Authority is pleased to announce the trainer for this learning opportunity, Michelle Singer. Michelle, a citizen of the Navajo Nation, has more than 20 years experience in community outreach to tribal communities and Indian country, fostering partnerships with federal, state and tribal government, health, human services, and educational organizations. She currently serves as Diversity Community Outreach Specialist for the Center for Diversity & Inclusion at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU). Michelle has also served as the Communications Coordinator for the OHSU One Sky Center, an American Indian/Alaska Native national resource center for health, education & research in the area of substance abuse and mental health services dedicated to the identification and dissemination of best practices of cultural based prevention, intervention and treatment initiatives. Prior to working at OHSU, Michelle spent nearly a decade in the United State Senate as a policy advisor to former Senate Democratic Leader Tom Daschle (D-SD), Senate Committee on Indian Affairs Chairman Ben Nighthorse Campbell (R-CO), and Senator Ron Wyden (D-OR).
