Hello Tribal Coordinators,
As you may remember, another training that came up on the tribal TA call was the tribal In-person training. I mentioned I am going to be the lead on planning for this training and we talked about the date, location and possible presenters. Since the call, the planning process has been underway and a few updates/ideas have come up that I wanted to check in with you about.
The tribal-specific in-person training is scheduled for April 7th and we are considering changing the date to early March to combine it with the Swing, which will take place in early March. I would like to get your feedback on the idea of pairing the Swing and the in-person training into a two-day training to be held in early March. Moving the tribal in-person training to piggy-back the Swing would result is less travel time, reduce overall cost and increase the likelihood you can attend both, keeping in mind the Swing is required. As you know, the tribal in-person training is one of six in-person trainings being offered during this grant year; one in each of the six regions of the state. HPCDP grantees are required to attend one in-person training opportunity of your choice and are welcome to attend more than one.
An exciting update about the tribal in-person training is that Lou Moerner who is from the Northern California Indian Development Council is very interested in visiting our community and sharing her ideas and experiences with all of you. She is available to come present in March, which would be ideal for our timing if we moved the in-person training. She was thrilled about our interest in her and looks forward to learning more about our Tribal communities here in Oregon.
Please email me with feedback by COB January 5th.
I am looking for your feedback specifically about combining the Swing training with the In-Person Tribal-specific training to be held in early March. We anticipate that the March event would be held in Klamath Falls. Please let me know if you need any other information about this in order to provide feedback.
Thank you!

Subject: [HealthyTribes] Required 2015 Regional Training
Greetings Tribal Coordinators!
As we discussed during the December Tribal Call last week, we are currently in the process of planning the 2015 Regional Training (Swing). This Year’s Swing will take place late February – early March. We intend to use our time to inform your development of a robust communications plan. We plan to release the 2015-16 TPEP RFA in late January, and look forward to using this Regional Training to provide resources to help with development of the WARN section of your workplan.
More detailed information regarding dates and location will follow in early January 2015.
Thank you!
Jennifer
