Good morning grantees,

I wanted to let you know that the Oregon Parks and Recreation Commission voted to adopt the rules restricting smoking in Oregon State Parks at their meeting last week. They went on to approve staff undertaking the process of rulemaking to restrict smoking on the ocean shore. Thank you to everyone who participated in this public process and contributed to this collective effort - all of the comments received are available on the web as well as the recordings from the public hearings in case you want to delve into the details of what people said (written comments) http://tinyurl.com/ka3o649 (audio from hearings) http://tinyurl.com/k2482w8.

We will keep you informed on next steps for beaches, it will likely be similar to the rulemaking process they designed for park areas.

Best,
