Hello Coordinators,

We are in the last month of development of the  Smokefree Oregon website and need your help to complete the "What can you do?" section.  We have gathered quotes, pictures and contact information from almost all of you, thank you.  In addition we need your help to develop a list of "Actions" and "Events."  To be clear, we are not looking for you to create events and this is not a call to participate in activities that have little strategic outcome.   What we ARE interested in is events, activities and actions you are already planning that connect to smokefree efforts in your community. We anticipate launching the website at the end of July so start by sending us events in August and beyond. Some examples:


  *   Any "What's for sale in your neighborhood" walks that were outlined in the Grantee Tobacco Industry Denormalization (TID) Cookbook or other TID or smokefree events that you might be planning this year.
  *   Actions you'd like help from in your community regarding smokefree policies.
  *   Updates on places in your community that are going smokefree, and any opportunities for general public involvement-say a public or town hall meeting to attend.
  *   Reminders of upcoming fairs or festivals that are already smokefree.
  *   Other actions or events you'd like to post on SmokefreeOregon.com.

NOTE: Please be as specific as possible in the information you send us. For any event or action, please include the who, what, when, where and why if you can. Contact name/number, email and/or a website link for people to ask questions/get more information is a must!

Once the website launches, we will need a lead time of at least one month ahead of any event to add information to this section of the website. We plan to update this section once a month, so think of sending us this information on a regular basis, certainly once a quarter-and more frequently if you have more going on.

For inclusion in our targeted SmokefreeOregon.com website launch at the end of July, please have your information to me no later than July 10.
