This information is to share with you a funding opportunity that has just been released by OHSU Knight Cancer Institute. I encourage you to consider applying. The work you do to create environments where Oregonians can eat better, move more, live tobacco free and do the things they love all serves to reduce the burden of cancer in your community.
Please contact the program directly with questions. Contact information is included below and in the attached flyer.

We want to let you know about a new grant funding opportunity to assist groups that want to reduce the cancer burden in their communities. The Knight Cancer Institute at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is launching the Community Partnership Program to aid communities in better understanding and addressing their cancer-related needs. This program will offer grants and other resources to organizations interested in developing a project addressing cancer prevention, early detection, treatment or survivorship needs.
Grants are available in three tiers to meet the differing needs of communities: early stage grants of up to $10,000, developmental grants of up to $25,000 and program development grants of up to $50,000. The multiple tiers of funding offer a method for organizations to take an initial idea and move through the funding tiers to develop a robust program. All funded proposals will be paired with an academic collaborator who will share best-practices, support program development and aid in evaluation measures.
The Intent to Apply form and request for proposals (RFP) are currently available on the OHSU Knight Cancer Institute's website<http://www.ohsu.edu/xd/health/services/cancer/outreach-programs/community-grants/index.cfm>. Intent to Apply forms are due Oct. 31; full proposals are due Dec. 12. We encourage you to contact a program representative with any questions you may have about the program or how to submit a proposal. The program representative can be reached through knightcancer at ohsu.edu<mailto:knightcancer at ohsu.edu>, or by calling 503 494-1617 and selecting option 6 for the Community Partnership Program.
We hope you consider submitting an application or sharing this information with colleagues or other groups that may be interested in applying. A flyer with additional information is attached. Working together, we can create robust, sustainable programs that benefit the health and well-being of all Oregonians and take another step toward ending cancer as we know it.
