[HealthyTribes] Training Updates from HPCDP + SAVE THE DATE for Place Matters 2016 Conference

Good afternoon Tribal TPEP Coordinators!


1.      Please SAVE THESE DATES for HPCDP's Place Matters Conference & Grantees and Contractors Annual Meeting. Both events will be held together on October 4-6, 2016 at the Oregon Convention Center in Portland. We look forward to getting together again and sharing all the great work you are doing!


2.      An update to the 2015-2016 In-Person Training Schedule was announced at Grantees and Contractors 2015. The name of the training in April in Cannon Beach is Lessons Learned and Emerging Priorities in Tobacco Prevention and Control. The content has been defined as:  Consider lessons learned and recent legislative changes as we adapt to a changing landscape for tobacco prevention and control. Explore state and local priorities and the vital partnership of HPCDP community programs and local public health in leveraging local conversations about vaping and marijuana legalization to advance Indoor Clean Air Act expansion, tobacco retail environment policy, extension of county tobacco-free properties to outdoor worksites and fairgrounds, and other priority policies. Use public health's "Diffusion of Innovation" theory to explore and align state and local tobacco prevention policy priorities.



If you intend to attend this training, please register as soon as possible so that we can plan appropriate content.



3.      There will be NO Spring Swing Regional Training in 2016. New RFA updates will be discussed on conference calls, webinars or in individual conversations with your Community Programs Liaison, as needed.
