Hello Coordinators,

Next Monday, March 30th is the quarterly Grantee Capacity Advisory Group (GCAG) call where we discuss all things training and technical assistance related. This is your chance to weigh in on training events, speakers, and specific issues you would like to see addressed in the coming year. As your new Workforce Capacity Coordinator, I am currently working on developing the training plan for the next grant year for HPCDP grantee programs. Please do contact your GCAG representative and let them know what topics, speakers, and issues interest you the most, and are most relevant to supporting you in achieving your Work Plan goals. Here is the most recent list of GCAG representatives:
Eastern: Kriss Renfro

Tribal: Leann Alexander

SW: Kristen Wils

Metro: Kirsten Ingersoll

Central: Minda Morton

Valley: Matthew Stevenson

Northern: Steven Blakesley

State: Jennifer Diallo

For example, would you like to see:

* More training on complementary skills like relationship management (becoming a "trusted advisor"), sharing evidence-based best practices, presentation skills for effectively communicating scientific public health data to policymakers individually and in groups, or to the general public?

* More training on policy change or communications strategy?

* More technical training on core competencies related to your content area work? Which competencies or skills?

* More training by your experienced TPEP peers or more outside speakers?

*         More content from HPCDP specialist staff members or other PHD staff to support your work?;

* How about other partners you would like to hear from about topics like working with youth or schools or addictions/mental health?

* Storytelling and identifying and capturing hero stories?

We will be brainstorming some more on Monday, so please send any ideas you have for required and optional in-person, webinar or online trainings to your GCAG Rep. You can also bounce your idea to me directly or send it via your liaison.

More information from you means better, more interesting training events by us. We look forward to hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Jennifer
