Dear Tribal Health Administrators,

I was asked to share the information below with you regarding a new CDC funding opportunity for which federally-recognized tribes are eligible to apply.

Last week the Centers for Disease Control released the Sodium Reduction in Communities grant (CDC-RFA-DP16-1607). There are a number of eligible applicants (listed below), specifically state, local and tribal governments. The Oregon Public Health Division intends to apply for this grant, and we encourage local partners to review the FOA for local consideration. Eligible Applicants Include:

Public and State controlled institutions of higher education
Nonprofits that do not have a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
Native American tribal governments (Federally recognized)
State governments
Private institutions of higher education
Independent school districts
Public housing authorities/Indian housing authorities
Native American tribal organizations (other than Federally recognized tribal governments)
Nonprofits having a 501(c)(3) status with the IRS, other than institutions of higher education
Small businesses
For profit organizations other than small businesses
County governments
Unrestricted (i.e., open to any type of entity above), subject to any clarification in text field entitled "Additional Information on Eligibility"
City or township governments
Special district governments
