Hello All,
I recently had an atypical request so I thought I'd throw it out here to get any sort of feedback/thoughts/experience/etc.
One of the local homeless shelters went tobacco free last year, I recently got a request from their pastor for some additional support. The shelter is part of a ministry that also includes a worship center, food bank and wellness center.
They are looking to play some sort of tobacco cessation "video" on a loop within the food bank. When getting food people are there for 10-15 minutes. They would like to use that time as an additional opportunity to educate, encourage and provide resources on quitting tobacco. I say "video" because they are open to creative ideas, just want something visually and audibly engaging.
Things he would like included in the "video" are:
* Information on cost savings (health and out-of-pocket)
* Health benefits of quitting
* Success stories of quitting tobacco
* Information on resources (including local options)
My initial thought is to create some sort of PowerPoint presentation and embed video clips within the presentation. Reasons include so that I can include all of the requested information, be able to customize the local resources, and have something modifiable so that it can be shared, adapted, and updated as needed.
Questions:
Does anyone already have some sort of "video" like this?
Does anyone know of any good video clips on cost savings, health benefits, and/or success stories on quitting?
Anything else that should be included in the video not in the above bullets?
Other ideas to fit this need? Or thoughts on the request?
I would appreciate anything anyone has to share on this. Thanks!
Best,
Joscelyn
