Greetings,
I wanted to pass along an opportunity that may be of interest to many of you. The opt-in period for the “Oregon Farm to School Non-Completive Oregon Grown or Processed Food Grant” is now open through June 30th. This is state funding for schools to purchase from local vendors. If you have relationships with a school district or are a farmer interested in selling some of your product locally, please look into this opportunity. The opt-in for districts is incredibly simple (attached here) with more information at this website<http://www.ode.state.or.us/search/page/?id=4199>. I have included Rick Sherman, Farm to School Specialist at the Oregon Department of Education, on this email. Feel free to contact either of us with questions.

Schools who are NOT yet participating in Eastern Oregon include: Hermiston, Ontario, Vale, Harney, Pilot Rock, Union, Wallowa, Joseph, Prairie City, Cove, Annex, Huntington, Crane Elementary, Dayville, Monument, Ukiah, Burnt River, & Long Creek.
