Hello Coordinators,
Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) will sponsor a webinar on Community Engagement for Health Equity, Racial & Social Justice, which will be held on Tuesday, March 8, 2016, at 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM.
This webinar will feature guest presenters from Everett, MA, a 2015 RWJF Culture of Health Prize winning community that is facing rapid changes in their ethnic profile. Everett is addressing potential issues of racial justice, immigration and assimilation by bringing people together from across the city to talk openly and safely about how cultural and racial inequities affect residents' well-being. They are taking steps together to ensure all people have an equal opportunity for good health. Kathleen O'Brien, Director of the Everett Community Health Partnership, will share the story behind why and how the community is finding innovative ways to engage community members. Jaime Lederer, Coordinator for the Partnership's Substance Abuse Coalition, will talk about how they are creating safe spaces for dialogue, building trust between the community and police, and supporting youth leadership in the community. Edwin Argueta, Organizer with Massachusetts Jobs with Justice, will share his work with immigrant families and how his organization is helping expand resident access to jobs that pay a living wage.

Thank you,
