Hello Tribal TPEP Coordinators,

It was great to hear all of your voices on the call this morning. I checked in with our event planning team and they have updated the registration website (click here to register)<http://www.cvent.com/events/2015-2016-health-promotion-and-chronic-disease-prevention-trainings-tribal/event-summary-0ab217c00b38446483f4c93b397b3688.aspx> to provide for hotel reservations at the government rate. If you have already registered for the training and DO need a hotel reservation, please use the username and password you received in the registration confirmation email to login again and add a hotel room to your reservation. If you don't have this information, or need assistance changing your reservation, please contact Rosalie at Beatty Group, P: 503-644-3340 F: 503-644-9443, E-mail: rosalie at beattygroup.com<mailto:rosalie at beattygroup.com>

I look forward to hearing from anyone who is interested in joining the Grantee Capacity Advisory Group GCAG). Our next call will be coming up soon and there is plenty of room in the conversation for anyone who wants to participate. This is one way to make sure your experience and voice informs future trainings and conferences. You can also participate by sharing your vision, voice and training/technical assistance needs with your current GCAG representative. Thank you to Mark Barnstable for serving as one of the GCAG representatives for the Tribes this year. I hope to hear from others that you will participate as a representative for the rest of this year. It's good to have a mix of new and experienced coordinators on the calls.

Again, here are the questions we discussed on the call and will be discussing at the next GCAG meeting:

* Your feedback on the concept of a peer mentoring program as part of new coordinator orientation: What do you think about the idea? How would it be most helpful to new coordinators? How can we support experienced coordinators wanting to be a mentor? (We heard from Gwen, Burns Paiute, and Patti, Siletz that peer mentoring would be helpful)

* Your feedback to inform planning for an upcoming grantee skills assessment: What have you learned from past assessments? What kind of assessment is most valuable to you to help identify your training and capacity-building needs? What is most important to know in order to inform HPCDP about training and technical assistance needs of grantees?

If you have any feedback or comments on either topic, please share your thoughts with Mark so that he can bring them to our next meeting, or you are always welcome to send thoughts directly to me.

Take good care,

Jennifer Diallo, M.Ed.
