There is a typo in the press release template, which was just brought to our attention.

In the last line of the template, the Smokefree Oregon website is located at: http://smokefreeoregon.com.

Additionally, this link should be customized to link directly to your county Smokefree Oregon page.

The Governor's Office has just released the following quote from Gov. Kate Brown for use in the T21 press release.

"I am proud that Oregon's strong tobacco prevention are helping build stronger communities, keeping Oregonians safe from secondhand smoke, and keeping 21,000 kids from starting to smoke," Brown said. "With Tobacco 21, we will now be able to continue this crucial work, helping to prevent future youth from starting tobacco addiction while promoting good health in every corner of our state."

Governor Kate Brown signed SB 754 into law last Wednesday, raising the minimum legal age for purchasing tobacco, inhalant delivery systems, and tobacco delivery products from 18 to 21.

Attached please find a press release template, which you can customize for your county. This is a great earned media opportunity!

As always, please work within your organizational structure to customize, review and approve the press release. This may include working with a Public Information Officer, Manager, and/or Administrator.
