Dear Tribal TPEP Partners -

The Oregon Health Authority has filed a draft rule with the Secretary of State's Office to redefine "enclosed area" under the Oregon Indoor Clean Air Act. I am reaching out to you as interested parties who may wish to participate in the process of providing input into this rulemaking.

Attached for your reference is the draft rule language and Statement of Need and Fiscal Impact that was filed. These documents and information on how to participate can be found online here: http://www.healthoregon.org/morefreshair.

I encourage you to share this information with your networks and invite public comment and participation in the process. If you or other individuals wish to present oral testimony, the following public hearings will be held:

  *   July 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.: Portland State Office Building - 800 NE Oregon St., Room 1A, Portland, OR 97232
  * July 20, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.: Jackson County Health and Human Services Building, Parkview Room #2194 - 140 S Holly Street, Medford, OR 97501
  * July 21, 2017 at 10:00 a.m.: Mike Maier Building - Community Board Room, 1130 NW Harriman Ave, Bend, OR 97701

You may also file written comments before 5:00 p.m. on July 24, 2017, by submitting them to the Public Health Division Rules Coordinator at the following address:
OHA, Public Health Division
Administrative Rules Coordinator
800 NE Oregon Street, Suite 930
Portland, Oregon 97232

You may also e-mail comments to publichealth.rules at state.or.us<mailto:publichealth.rules at state.or.us> or send comments by fax to (971) 673-1299.

The administrative rulemaking process includes steps for consideration of all comments, and a hearings report and response to comments will be produced. Final rules will be filed after consideration of all comments. TPEP partners will be kept informed of the process over the next several weeks.

Please let me know if you have any questions. Thank you for your continued support.
