Apply Now: Safe Streets, Smart Cities Academy
Applications are open until August 19

The rapid pace of change with new mobility services is having huge implications for the safety and convenience of people walking or biking. City staff working on automated vehicles or permitting new, dockless bicycle share systems need to be on the same page with their colleagues who are redesigning streets to improve safety for everyone. That’s one reason why our Smart Cities team at Transportation for America is joining forces with the National Complete Streets Coalition to help communities put their stated commitment to safety into practice.

The Safe Streets, Smart Cities Academy will work with teams from three cities to build the skills necessary to create safer, slower streets, including proven safety countermeasures, tactical urbanism, and community engagement. Participants in this free technical assistance opportunity will also learn about how emerging smart city technologies can help prevent crashes and save lives—creating places that are safer for everyone.
