Tobacco Retail Evaluation Webinar

Learning Objectives:
By the end of this webinar, participants will be able to:

1.       Describe key elements of Oregon's Tobacco Retail Evaluation (TRE).

2.       Identify ways to use findings from Phase One (2016 - 2017) of the Tobacco Retail Evaluation in local and state policy work.

3.       Outline expectations for county TPEP grantee participation in TRE Phase Two evaluation activities.

This webinar is intended for ADPEP, RHEC, and TPEP grantees who are working or interested in tobacco retail policy work. Attendance at the webinar is encouraged and voluntary.

Background:
The Tobacco Retail Evaluation, facilitated by a HPCDP contractor, the Rede Group, is a multi-year evaluation examining three key evaluation questions among county TPEP coordinators:

1.       Are there essential elements that communities must have in place to move tobacco retail polices forward? And, if so what are those elements?

2.       What are the most significant challenges to passing strong tobacco retail policies?

3.       In what ways are local tobacco programs making progress toward adopting tobacco retail policies? Were SPArC grantees able to achieve more progress? (for 2016-17 only)
This evaluation was carried out using several approaches:

1.       28-Day Rapid Response Survey & Reports (28-day surveys)

2.       Focus groups and informant interviews

3.       Point-in-time policy assessments
