[HealthyTribes] Congratulations Klamath Tribes Prevention Program!

Please join us in congratulating the Klamath Tribes Youth & Family Guidance Center's Prevention Program in winning two recent prestigious awards. The team traveled to Washington D.C. to receive the 2017 Indian Health Service Director's Award for their Restoration of the Spirit strategy. Monica Yellow Owl, Klamath Tribes Prevention Supervisor offered this statement, "Our Restoration of the Spirit efforts continue to actualize and even grow beyond our ancestral lands. In May 2018 we held our 4th Annual Restoration of the Spirit event and two other tribal nations joined with us: Confederated Tribes of Warm Springs and Winnemem Wintu. We are proud of this work, even more proud of our communities for aligning with the vision and working hard in their own lives to create the change we need."



In addition to the Indian Health Services Director's Award, they were also provided the Regional Director's Award for their documentary "maqlaqs ?am sdynas - The People's heart", a film showcasing the natural, creator-given, tribal best practices. The film portrays how they use these practices to strengthen the tribal community and build tribal identity. Please see photos attached.
