Thanks to generous support from Kaiser Permanente, the Oregon Public Health Institute (OPHI) is releasing a grant opportunity to support city agencies in implementing Healthy Eating, Active Living (HEAL) policies related to active transportation, healthy food access, workplace wellness, and incorporating health into key city documents (e.g. Comprehensive Plans, Transportation System Plans, Parks Master Plans.)
Cities in Oregon that are currently involved in the HEAL Cities NW Campaign<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__ophi.us7.list-2Dmanage.com_track_click-3Fu-3Da23dd09ac55f5ecffa5963b89-26id-3D5eb4d65251-26e-3D658cdd31b7&d=DwMFaQ&c=7gilq_oJKU2hnacFUWFTuYqjMQ111TRstgx6WoATdXo&r=hXOTJUAl2nsljAgmELfTyYpyS1eUGJSDiT3O3SAeUfE&m=50LGDOQW90Fae4YLS4hvehT8Cs-d8WXcT1oT-U4bJug&s=Lx_3-18IFwHzx7hAHafBPi9Tx_XP4lqh5yZ3onSuu1M&e=> and that are looking to expand HEAL-related policies and programs in their community can apply for a grant, ranging in amounts from $5,000 to $15,000. Applications are due by November 16, 2018 at 5:00 pm. This grant opportunity is only available to cities currently participating in the HEAL campaign.
The goal of the HEAL Cities NW Grant opportunity is to support civic leaders across Oregon to build healthier and more vibrant communities by encouraging city agencies to adopt policies that will expand the options for city residents, visitors, and employees to have access to healthier foods and the ability to be more physically active. Cities can browse a policy library and download one-page info sheets with guidance on the most popular HEAL policies<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__ophi.us7.list-2Dmanage.com_track_click-3Fu-3Da23dd09ac55f5ecffa5963b89-26id-3De391d24765-26e-3D658cdd31b7&d=DwMFaQ&c=7gilq_oJKU2hnacFUWFTuYqjMQ111TRstgx6WoATdXo&r=hXOTJUAl2nsljAgmELfTyYpyS1eUGJSDiT3O3SAeUfE&m=50LGDOQW90Fae4YLS4hvehT8Cs-d8WXcT1oT-U4bJug&s=su2M9xyriV7bQgCvDNs7SGiHlYQIWR0uNutNtmZNz_Q&e=> on the Campaign website<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__ophi.us7.list-2Dmanage.com_track_click-3Fu-3Da23dd09ac55f5ecffa5963b89-26id-3D86cab5312c-26e-3D658cdd31b7&d=DwMFaQ&c=7gilq_oJKU2hnacFUWFTuYqjMQ111TRstgx6WoATdXo&r=hXOTJUAl2nsljAgmELfTyYpyS1eUGJSDiT3O3SAeUfE&m=50LGDOQW90Fae4YLS4hvehT8Cs-d8WXcT1oT-U4bJug&s=-UwlRGr9jz3_X7UYADkM31NlfcM5GRa_7aZa8xkUbls&e=>.
