Good afternoon Tribal TPEP,

I hope all is well. Below are a list of updates and resources for everyone to check out.

BM 108 Roundtable!
We are pleased to host the Ballot Measure 108 (tobacco tax) virtual roundtable next week on Thursday, 9/23, from 2:30-4:30 pm to review and discuss the CBO Advisory Group's recommendations for how new tobacco tax revenues can be allocated to reduce tobacco use inequities. We hope you can join!

Below is the Zoom information:
Link: https://www.zoomgov.com/j/1605249933?pwd=R1JvVjNCeVZJOGVGZFNsczZuMWpUZz09.
Phone: 669-254-5252
Meeting ID: 160 524 9933
Passcode: 741315

As a reminder, OHA convened the 21-member CBO Advisory Group to ensure the allocation process centered community voice and shared power with organizations who are experiencing the greatest tobacco burden and have not had a seat at the table in past decision-making processes. We will use our time together to hear from Advisory Group members about their recommendations, ask questions, and engage in small group discussions about how OHA, CBOs, RHECs, and Local and Tribal TPEP can best work together to reduce tobacco use inequities in Oregon. If you have any questions, contact ashley.thirstrup at dhsoha.state.or.ur<mailto:ashley.thirstrup at dhsoha.state.or.ur>

Despite challenges occurring due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this data-collection period, BRFSS was active in 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and Guam. Reaching participants on both landline and cellular telephones, the survey collected information on health risk behaviors, clinical preventive health practices, and health care access (primarily related to chronic disease and injury) from a representative sample of noninstitutionalized adults aged 18 years or older in each state.

The BRFSS is the largest ongoing telephone-based health surveillance system in the world, conducting about 402,000 interviews in 2020. BRFSS staff are working to make this new data set available soon through its online Prevalence and Trends Tools.
