Maureen pushed for stronger controls on cigarette advertising and co-authored the 1963 book “Smoke Screen: Tobacco and Public Welfare”. In 1964 she sponsored and successfully fought for federal legislation requiring cigarette warning labels. This nominee will be recognized for their long-term leadership and for making significant contributions for at least five years.
