</span><span style="font-size:14.0pt"><a href="https://smokefreeoregon.com/"><i>Smokefree Oregon</i></a><span style="color:black"> launched a tobacco cessation media campaign this week, and we need your help! The campaign encourages people who use tobacco—including
cigarettes, e-cig</span>arettes and all other products—<span style="color:black"> to call the Oregon Tobacco Quit Line to get support to quit. It also encourages health care providers to talk with their patients about quitting.
<b>The campaign launched this week and will run through mid-February.</b> <o:p></o:p></span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-size:14.0pt">It’s always important for providers to talk with their patients about quitting tobacco. Now the urgency has increased with the recent outbreak of acute lung injury from vaping, as well as the dramatic increase
in vaping by young people. Vaping is not an FDA-approved way to quit smoking; studies have shown it may sustain nicotine addiction. Additionally, the aerosol from vaping contains harmful chemicals, including carcinogens.
