NEW ISSUE OF HERITAGE COURIER POSTED ONLINE

The final article in a series on post World War II architecture is featured in the latest issue of the Oregon Heritage Courier that is now posted at is now posted at http://www.oregon.gov/OPRD/HCD/docs/Courier09-3-final.pdf  Other articles touch on a new archaeological site steward program, historic preservation in state parks, and discoveries of ship wrecks. The publication is produced by the Heritage Programs Division of the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department.


APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE FOR FELLOWSHIPS TO RESEARCH TRIBAL HISTORY

With funding from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, the Oklahoma Department of Libraries is sponsoring a 26-month course of study that will introduce selected participants to methods and strategies for designing research projects, identifying sources, accessing and using American Indian materials in local, regional, and national collections, and producing a short documentary using the information collected.  A maximum of 20 Research Fellows from across the nation will be selected through a competitive process.  Stipend awards are available.

Application guidelines, forms, and a sample application may be downloaded from the front page of the Oklahoma Department of Libraries website at http://www.odl.state.ok.us/.   Applications are due on Feb. 1.


EARLY OREGONIANS WEBSITE ENHANCED

The Early Oregonians database has just had a new release added to the website.  This version allows you to click on the associated records tab and census tab in the top portion of the profile page and see the records the State Archives has associated with the person as well as the census in which they are listed. CENTURY FARM PROGRAM SEEKS COORDINATOR

The Oregon Agricultural Education Foundation desires to contract for a part-time coordinator of the Oregon Century Farm and Century Ranch Program. The coordinator will work as an independent contractor to facilitate the goals and activities of the project committee, including administration, fundraising, database development and marketing. Travel required.
