A SUCCESSFUL COLLABORATION FEATURED, TOURISM STRATEGY SOUGHT ON
EXCHANGE
A recent collaboration between the U.S. Forest Service, in Region 6
(Oregon and Washington), Oregon’s State Historic Preservation Office and
a community partner resulted in the rehabilitation of the old Bly Ranger
Station office building, located on Highway 140 in Bly, Oregon. Learn

CHAMPOEG TO PARTICIPATE IN MONTH-LONG ARCHAEOLOGY CELEBRATION
Retired Oregon State Archaeologist Dr. Leland Gilsen will exhibit a
"Traveling Museum of Oregon Prehistory" from 11 a.m. - 4 p.m., Oct. 19
at the Champoeg State Park Visitor Center (
http://www.oregonstateparks.org/index.cfm?do=parkPage.dsp_parkPage&parkId=79
), 8239 Champoeg Rd NE, St. Paul as part of the 2013 Oregon Archaeology
Celebration. The talk will highlight the tools, weapons, and
technological achievements of the First Americans.
Created through a proclamation by the Governor of Oregon, the Oregon
Archaeology Celebration (

) promotes archaeology, cultural heritage, and history with a focus on
Oregon. It represents a great opportunity for members of the public to
discover the compelling and colorful history and heritage of the state.
DIGITAL PRODUCTION SERVICES RELEASES LIVING HISTORY OF MONMOUTH AND
WOU
Digital Production Services (DPS) recently completed a new community
video titled "Living History, The Early Years, Monmouth and Western
Oregon University ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYLZ105OhDA )", which
covers the years 1853 – 1911. .A collaborative effort between DPS and
University Archives, the DVD and Bluray is available at local libraries,
schools and other community sources. For further information, contact
