whose members will provide free information, consultation and training
in collections care and emergency preparedness for libraries, museums
and archives in all regions of the State. We'll let you know more about
the MentorCorps when it is officially launched later this month.

conferences, meetings of statewide heritage organizations, personnel

DEADLINE APPROACHING FOR COMMENTS ON DRAFT 2014-2019 OREGON HERITAGE
PLAN
The deadline for making comments on the draft 2014 – 2019 Oregon
Heritage Plan is Jan. 15. The plan focuses on four areas: collections,
economic development and tourism, communications, and education. A link
to the plan is available at www.oregonheritage.org .

LEATHER, FUR CARE FEATURED IN FREE WEBINAR
The Connecting to Collections online community has posted an hour-long
webinar dedicated to the care of leather and fur objects. The webinar
covers the basic care of tanned, tawed, and untanned skins. From storage
to cleaning methods, this webinar covers best practices for organic
objects’ care.

ODOT SEEKS HISTORIC RESOURCE SPECIALIST
The Oregon Department of Transportation is seeking a limited duration
Historic Resource Specialist (

The successful candidate will analyze and document the impacts of
projects and other department activities on historic sites and
structures. Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to
write clearly, concisely and in an organized way, are mandatory, as is
