During winter, the long hours of cold darkness offer little inducement to be active. Oregon Heritage has a cure this year for that malaise.
With the assistance of its Connecting to Collections grant that created the Oregon Heritage MentorCorps, Oregon Heritage is offering incentives for organizations for collections care and disaster planning activity. Your museum, library or archive could receive up to $500 for collection care or disaster supplies by participating in the incentive program.
* Organizations that complete a memorandum of understanding Heritage's MentorCorps program for a collections or disaster training will be eligible for $50.
* Organizations that complete a simple Pocket Response Plan<http://www.oregon.gov/oprd/HCD/OHC/docs/OC2C%20Prep%20Plan.doc> (PReP) phone tree will be eligible for $50.
* Organizations that complete a full disaster preparedness plan such as DPlan<http://www.dplan.org/> will be eligible for $500.
All documentation must be received by OPRD by July 31. Museums, libraries and archives are encouraged to apply for more than one of the incentives. This award is made possible by a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Sciences.
