[Heritage] Chelsea Rose appointed to Heritage Commission

Chelsea Rose of Ashland has been appointed by Governor Kate Brown to a three-year term on the Oregon Heritage Commission.
Rose is an archaeologist and adjunct faculty with the Southern Oregon University Laboratory of Anthropology. She has been vice president of the Association of Oregon Archaeologists, been an on-camera host for the PBS series Time Team America, been recognized for the quality of her work by professional organizations, and taught at the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department's Archaeology Awareness Training. Rose also serves on the editorial advisory board of the Oregon Historical Quarterly.
The Heritage Commission is comprised of nine people representing Oregon's heritage and geographical diversity. There are also nine advisory representatives from state agencies and statewide organizations.
The mission of the Heritage Commission is to secure, sustain, and enhance Oregon's heritage by ensuring coordination of heritage initiatives by public and private organizations; advocacy on its behalf; education of the public about its extent and value; and promotion and celebration of its diversity.
