2018 OREGON HERITAGE CONFERENCE CALL FOR PROPOSALS

The Oregon Heritage Conference will be taking place at the Deschutes County Museum in Bend on April 11-13, 2018. Oregon Heritage invites ideas and proposals that explore this year's theme: People, Place, Change.

If you would like to submit a proposal, please provide: 1) the moderator's name, title, organization, and contact information; 2) a session title and type (workshop, lecture, or panel); 3) a description of the session proposal in 75 words or less; and 4) information on any additional presenters.

The Oregon Heritage Conference brings together people who love and work with Oregon's heritage. Designed to be interdisciplinary, the conference focuses on all sectors of cultural heritage, such as historic preservation, museums, archives, libraries, historic cemeteries, and local and state government.

The deadline for proposal submissions is September 1, 2017. Please send your proposal to Kuri.Gill at oregon.gov<mailto:Kuri.Gill at oregon.gov>. Applicants will be notified of decisions by September 30.

UPCOMING OREGON HERITAGE TRADITION - BOHEMIA MINING DAYS, JULY 13-16

The Oregon Heritage Tradition designation recognizes those events more than 50 years old that represent what it means to be an Oregonian.  Cottage Grove's Bohemia Mining Days began in 1959 as part of commemorating the centennial of Oregon's Statehood. The 2017 Bohemia Mining Days Festival will by July 13-16 and includes events such as performances, rides and games, parades, mining activities, and other events over the course of the weekend. OREGON HERITAGE EXCHANGE BLOG FEATURES PORT ORFORD'S MAIN STREET EFFORTS
