RESTORE OREGON SEEKS PRESERVATION PROGRAMS MANAGER

Restore Oregon - Preservation Programs Manager
Responsibilities for the position include managing Restore Oregon's statewide education programs and Most Endangered Places initiative; response to field requests for technical support and advocacy issues; building strong relationships with regional constituents; identifying and supporting opportunities to make the organization economically sustainable; managing programs staff. HIGH DESERT SEEKS COLLECTIONS MANAGER AND EXHIBITIONS COORDINATOR

High Desert Museum -  Collections Manager and Exhibitions Coordinator
This position manages the Museum's collection, library and archives. Furthermore, the position plays a key role in coordinating and facilitating the production and installation of temporary and permanent exhibitions within a dynamic team of curators and exhibit design professionals. The successful candidate will be a creative problem solver, have strong organizational skills, a team-oriented perspective and will work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary museum. A positive demeanor and the ability to learn new skills quickly are essential traits. LIBERATED ARCHIVE FORUM JULY 29 IN PORTLAND


The Society of American Archivists Annual Meeting is taking place in Portland from July 23-29 and it just happens that the last day is FREE and all are invited to attend!



The Liberated Archive Forum is scheduled from 8:45am-5:00pm at the Oregon Convention Center on Saturday, July 29. Help spread the word, as the organizers want to see not only you there but also welcome members of the communities that you serve.



The Liberated Archive goes beyond good intentions to explore how archivists might partner with the public to repurpose the archive as a site of social transformation and radical inclusion.



The morning will kick off with a keynote address featuring a wealth of wisdom from the renowned educator, writer, scholar, and spoken word artist Walidah Imarisha of Stanford University. You can then choose to attend one of ten concurrent panel discussions ranging from "#ArchivesForBlackLives" to "Mirror, Mirror on the Wall, Show Me Documents That Include Us All."



As part of an afternoon "unconference," there will be a chance to explore a different kind of outreach that depends on collaboration, communication, and hands-on work to build trusted relationships and make friends and advocates.

OCF OPENS RFP FOR 2017 SMALL ARTS AND CULTURE GRANTS

One-year operating support grants of $1,000 to $5,000 will be available to arts and culture organizations with operating budgets under $100,000. Funds are being allocated to each of Oregon's eight regions based on the number of arts organizations and population. INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITY WITH OSU SPECIAL COLLECTIONS AND ARCHIVES RESEARCH CENTER

Oregon State University Special Collections and Archives Research Center is offering an internship for undergraduate or graduate students to help with processing archival materials from Oregon Tilth, a leading nonprofit certifier, educator and advocate for organic agriculture and products since 1974. These recently acquired records from Oregon Tilth will help illuminate the history of organic and sustainable agriculture and certification in Oregon.  Expected duration of the internship: August 1 - October 23, 2017. Approx. hours worked per week 10-12 hours for 13-15 weeks (150 hours total). $12.50 per hour.  Must be able to work in Corvallis, during normal business hours (8 am -5 pm Monday - Friday).
