Next Week, April 18-24, Is National Volunteer Appreciation Week - It’s Not Too Late To Thank Your Volunteers!
Volunteers are the lifeblood of many of our heritage organizations - we truly can’t accomplish all the good work we do without them! From board positions to event volunteers, they make a difference. National Volunteer Week debuted in the United States in 1974. In his proclamation declaring National Volunteer Week, President Richard Nixon urged all Americans to observe the week by seeking out a volunteer opportunity. He also called upon all communities to “recognize volunteers by observing the week with special ceremonies to honor those who have given countless hours for the betterment of our communities and the American way of life.” Recognizing volunteers should be on-going activity for every organization. Need some inspiration, check out our previous blog post<o%09Can%20reshare%20the%20blog%20post%20on%20volunteer%20appreciation%20ideas%20frhttps:/oregonheritage.wordpress.com/2021/03/26/volunteer-appreciation-more-important-than-ever/> chalk full of ideas you can borrow!
