2022 Oregon Heritage Conference - Call for Proposals

2022 Oregon Heritage Conference: The Power of Heritage
April 27-29
Corvallis

The power of heritage has never before been made so clear as it has in recent times. In 2020 we had planned to inspire heritage organizations at the conference, to help you realize and enact your organization's power within your communities. Instead, you blew us away with your proactive actions, your steadfastness, and most of all, your resilience. From proactive collecting for historic events, providing information about similar historic events, responding to civil unrest, saving historic sites from fires, to just surviving financial uncertainty. You harnessed the power, now let's embrace it and multiply it. Join us in 2022 as we explore ways in which heritage preservation empowers communities, uncovers untold stories, preserves history in the making, creatively engages audiences, and proves its value.

Join us by submitting proposals that share projects, tools, messaging, and opportunities that help heritage organizations embrace their vital role in their communities.
Conference proposals related to this theme might include:

  *   Public Engagement

  *   Including More Voices

  *   Promoting the Value

  *   Advocacy

  *   Creative Programming

  *   Partnerships/Collaboration

Oregon Heritage invites creative proposals! Panels and lectures are welcome, as well as facilitated conversations, debates, practical training, or other suggestions.
There are two options for session proposals:

  *   75 Minute Session
  *   Half-Day Pre-conference Workshop (3-4 hrs)

If you would like to submit a proposal, please fill out this form<https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/a506747b1351481db14c84467c4ec52e> which asks for: 1) the moderator's name, title, organization, and contact information; 2) a session title and type (workshop, lecture, or panel); 3) a description of the session proposal and how it relates to the theme in 75 words or less; and 4) information on any additional presenters.

The Oregon Heritage Conference brings together people who love and work with Oregon's heritage. Designed to be interdisciplinary, the conference focuses on all sectors of cultural heritage, such as historic preservation, museums, archives, libraries, historic cemeteries, archaeology, Tribes, and local and state government.
