Activist Archives and Frameworks of Care webinar, January 11
A Conservation Center for Art & Historic Artifacts<https://ccaha.org/> webinar.
Through her work with activists in communities marginalized by gender, sexuality, race and ethnicity, and HIV-status, Dr. Marika Cifor has developed a framework for understanding archives through the lenses of cure, care, and radical empathy. Through case studies, her presentation allows us to ask the question, how can the lessons be applied to your institution’s archives?
This webinar addresses Focus Area #2 of the FAIC’s Held In Trust Report<https://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001l1eSsG7b7ji-th348LqElUlxKThv-affuWgzOfxb8aDOomhVttcQmwzLQ9yceFRq6TdsUPl9lvlAz_gz3RsBY8NqkFrL62YlrxW6EhMITwvvvfP23yaa2i4BaIZqG_eU_P_jPaJACfSOzzyuDgDr5fDcVg9qMwnW59ou3b5TVPZWQNTvG3SMZzdddTDjfUNPjKN5XJpedxIxuITO0H3wkPiZ9PhisfyQp3oOl0DcLploOJJgmb_j8g-nWW7C2WzSpwi8JA7h6mHNS_bmGhQA-w17kfFoVoq6AZrE125tYcRXAT3NmTEJl-nWnN6g2lN7CcxDt409fxsavPXNqh4QMBKA_fLl0cI2dc6-l5qr5-28X7LrQxUIAZ6D_Hw9XMtjpvPt2ZnpNoV8WwcBhm1L8SbfysF2PLykD-ZTkW54vxXJYMPo7Wl2jtWmDJvVtRtf4bpzHCtd-m3iaKpLhYi6sQ==&c=D-fLnP5rF9_qdN-7-wFg_GYDE-BWY82XuUyZWbQlJ7ZAwpZ0iTCACA==&ch=89ozn1SOUpktOPbKNsz8pR1Pq3_jTrlInzQiu5ZOKju6kAXorI7Tig==> on Diversity, Equity Inclusion, and Accessibility-inclusive engagement with diverse communities.

Communities convene to hear how the arts fuel Oregon’s economy
More than 1,000 Oregonians attended a series of events held in early November at which Randy Cohen, vice president of research for Americans for the Arts, shared the results of the Arts & Economic Prosperity 6 study<https://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001G3Pf6sXFFlXaGUZaMeKAosIHixJgu5p_YEvwE7K4bSaMnQJcq81xz3DBfzOgNihAS3qcOdaG4F0vEMVyHJJcxK66FdXGxlK496_drAAMhf9AwDGU36sFPJUH0IDBDwMlzvO8ymFnH1o-PV5vC7mAL3-s8TDmFbYgXZxSZdrXy_IpaINnJqLfegGU8KRCMS1gySFpTxLnoGygXSCa1ElFJzZj2rCxTVc0M-WEd_YUpmctyUki4AUAv4Z3YlgGzVnGPYSSfjC9cUBh5TdOia2DOjU-JLkZ8uptIrxjZNkfr4MkZXSRxJHYu5haRtMjpwahhSCKAFCfOXn3YCaJAWMfjUgo1N3NUrb-AaRsNi-3Gp6H2nF5xLvy2Q==&c=0vijRMgCBhYsL8tzgfNBZBp3Hv_HonssFqEsFke4U2iP-g9enLG8kQ==&ch=0wEDjAlV_gx1wXbJOQl8SjGn7yg6fy1JZH0N0lh9bceQ1t7bbm-g0g==>. The study revealed that Oregon's arts and culture sector contributed $829 million to Oregon's economy in FY2022.
Randy visited nine communities in north, south and central Oregon to discuss the amazing contributions and vital role that arts and culture play in making Oregon's communities stronger. These findings make a huge difference in making the case for community investment in the arts. In one community, the city manager was so impressed with the economic impact data that he invited an arts leader to serve on the tourism commission and is now planning to invest city funds in creating an arts district.
For those unable to attend the in-person events, Randy will present an overview of Oregon findings<https://r20.rs6.net/tn.jsp?f=001G3Pf6sXFFlXaGUZaMeKAosIHixJgu5p_YEvwE7K4bSaMnQJcq81xz3DBfzOgNihAWlY1p8GKQuYhI_yqM8D4aqo8YDFHm3pFL0djIzSPNlODGIM59EhIEQ1FQ9nH6CCZ_q8n2okKghriAQw37Dy3ZhlyQwbPSFBDzaXDxsb2L8zYUrYLktNGMw==&c=0vijRMgCBhYsL8tzgfNBZBp3Hv_HonssFqEsFke4U2iP-g9enLG8kQ==&ch=0wEDjAlV_gx1wXbJOQl8SjGn7yg6fy1JZH0N0lh9bceQ1t7bbm-g0g==> during a Zoom event from 10 to 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 19.
