Five Oaks Museum seeks Museum Codirector
The museum is currently seeking a new leader to continue to shape this innovative organization and shared leadership model. The Codirector will share executive leadership of the museum with the current Codirector, Molly Alloy, and will have central focus on fundraising and development.
Position Summary
Shared leadership is a cornerstone of Five Oaks Museum's innovative organizational structure. The Codirector will share executive leadership of the museum with the current Codirector, Molly Alloy, and work closely with the museum's staff, board of directors, committee members, volunteers, and contractors. The Codirectors have overlapping responsibilities, such that each will have some areas of individual focus and some areas that will be executed collaboratively through shared focus. The incoming Codirector will have central focus on fundraising and development, while Molly will maintain central focus on the guest curator program and exhibitions. Together, the Codirectors will lead vision and strategy for the museum, maintain board relations, and share chief financial oversight. The incoming Codirector will define together with Molly how they will divide or share the focus areas of communications, facilities, learning, and cultural resources. Enjoyment of fundraising and museums will be essential for the incoming Codirector's success, as well as comfort in collaborative work methods and a genuine connection to the museum's values.

Overview
This exhibit uses archival records to illuminate the courage and resilience of Black pioneers who built lives for themselves and their families in Oregon despite the many barriers they faced. The exhibit puts their experiences in context with chronologies and related resources before telling their stories augmented by photos and original documents.

USFWS Region 1 seeks Supervisory Archaeologist GS-0193-13, Sherwood, OR
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) is hiring for our Cultural Resources Branch Chief position, located in Sherwood, Oregon. This application is now open through 2/13/23.
This vital position leads a team of archaeologists supporting multiple USFWS programs across Regions 1 and 8, which encompasses 113 national wildlife refuges, 37 fish hatcheries and over 760 million acres of public lands and waters in American Samoa, California, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Oregon, Nevada, Northern Mariana Islands, and Washington.
The sun rises and sets on the collection of over 3,000 documented cultural resources in both regions, which reflect the cultural diversity of our nation. From rock art on Guam NWR to the Oregon Trail on Minidoka NWR, these unique sites range from evidence of this hemisphere's earliest inhabitants, to remains of nineteenth century historic homesteads, to sacred areas important to Indian tribes, to the role of the Civilian Conservation Corps in the development of the National Wildlife Refuge System, and remnants associated with World War II, just to name just a few.

Weston Heritage consists of photos and documents surrounding the early settlement of the city itself. Visitors to the site will see the evolution of Weston's main street (above) from the 1860s through the 1950s as well as a wide range of historic images that includes decades worth of people, buildings, schools, agriculture, and more.
In addition to Weston Heritage, visitors to Northwest Digital Heritage will soon be able to search the Digital Historic Archives Collections of Harney County Library. The Archaeology Roadshow is hosting Four in-person events in 2023
The Archaeology Roadshow<https://archaeologyroadshow.org> will be hosting FOUR in-person events across Oregon in 2023: Portland (May 13), Central Oregon (May 27), Harney County (June 24) and The Dalles (September 16).
This year's theme is The Archaeology of Transportation, highlighting ways the lives of people have been shaped by transportation in all its meanings. Exhibitors are encouraged to consider this theme in your own exhibit planning, but promise- this is only a suggestion.

The Oregon State University Libraries is excited to invite applications for the University Archivist in the Special Collections and Archives Research Center (Corvallis, Oregon). The University Archivist is responsible for several fundamental programmatic activities including records management, preservation, and access of university records with long-term historical or administrative value, accessioning, and arrangement and description. In collaboration with SCARC colleagues, the University Archivist fosters a culture of ethical, service-oriented stewardship of SCARC?s resources. The University Archivist supervises the Collections Archivist and the Records Manager. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE), 12-month, professional faculty position.
