REMINDER: Don't forget to fill out the survey for the Oregon Heritage Vitality Study by Friday for a chance to get a free conference registration!
Friday, Feb. 2 is the deadline to participate in the survey for the 2024 Oregon Heritage Vitality Study.  It's critical to get the survey information from as many heritage preservation organizations as possible so that we can have comprehensive results that lead to targeted solutions and initiatives that benefit the on the ground heritage preservation work happening in the state.
The survey can be accessed in the following ways but please do not hesitate to reach out if there is a barrier for your organization's participation and we will work with you the best we can to get your organization's information included:

C, Salem, OR 97301 (In order to make space for mail delivery and given the short turnaround of the survey, please know we will accept surveys that are returned by mail after Feb. 2)

  *   Complete the survey by phone by contacting 503-877-8834 to arrange a time

More information on the study:
The goal of this study is to better understand the current state of Oregon's heritage sector and to help  the Oregon Heritage Commission and statewide partners and entities target solutions - such as specific policies and resources - for sustaining and boosting heritage-related work in Oregon.

This study is an update to the 2011 Heritage Vitality Study which resulted in identifying issues impacting heritage preservation work across the state and made recommendations that led to focused initiatives and technical assistance. Windows: Repair or Replacement | February 21, 2024 at 1PM
Windows are always hot topics when talking about historic buildings.  There is a significant amount of information out there on historic and replacement windows, but who do you believe?  Joy Sears, Restoration Specialist with the Oregon State Historic Preservation Office will be giving a two-hour presentation on windows, covering various issues with wood windows: myths, repairs, upgrades that can be done, and considerations when talking about possible replacements.
