Oregon Heritage Commission seeks input on statewide Heritage Plan
The statewide Oregon Heritage Plan is a call to action for heritage efforts to unite around common goals. The resulting goals of the final plan can help do the following:
* Help align the Heritage Commission’s initiatives and technical assistance with helping heritage organizations working towards the identified goals.
* Provide a framework for statewide partners and service organizations to align their programs to help heritage organizations work towards these goals.
* Provide a framework and support for local heritage organizations in prioritizing and planning projects and processes and getting support from partners, stakeholders, grant makers, and decision makers.
Are you part of Oregon’s heritage preservation community?
We are seeking input from the following (but not limited to):
* Museums
* Historical Societies
*
Historic preservationists
*
Historians
* Archaeologists
* Cultural Resource Specialists
* Historic Cemetery caretakers
* Libraries
* Archives
* Local historic landmarks Boards/Commissions

ICYMI - Restore Oregon announced the 2025 DeMuro Awards for Excellence in Historic Preservation
Restore Oregon has selected nine historic projects across Oregon to receive DeMuro Awards for Excellence in Historic Preservation, the state’s highest honor for the preservation, reuse, and revitalization of architectural and cultural sites. In addition, Restore Oregon’s Board of Directors has selected Christine (Chrissy) Curran, recently retired Deputy SHPO, to receive the 2025 DeMuro Impact Award in recognition of her contributions to historic preservation statewide. Chrissy joins three other individuals and organizations that have been recognized for their work since the DeMuro Impact Award was first introduced last year.

Cultural Trust awards record $4.15 million to Oregon cultural organizations statewide
An increase in fiscal year 2025 donations, as well as investment earnings, has resulted in an all-time high of $4.15 million awarded to cultural nonprofits and organizations statewide by the Oregon Cultural Trust.
The $4.15 million includes awards to 91 individual arts, heritage and humanities nonprofits, organizations and state cultural agencies. Among them is a total of $1,038,285 for the Cultural Trust’s five statewide partners (Oregon Arts Commission, Oregon Heritage Commission, Oregon Humanities, Oregon Historical Society and the State Historic Preservation Office), and $1,038,285 for 45 County and Tribal Cultural Coalitions – who annually award an average of 450 local grants within their communities.
In addition, $2,076,570 in competitive Cultural Development Program grants were awarded to 91 cultural nonprofits serving most geographic regions of the state.
