Desert Dialogues: Building Place-Based Learning in Rural Communities
What if your informal learning organization (such as a museum, nature center, park, cultural center) could strengthen connections with the local community through meaningful, place-based learning experiences? Desert Dialogues is an 18-month hybrid program for rural museum teams in the West who want to reimagine their work through collaborative, community-centered practice.

The High Desert Museum invites teams of 2-3 people (two staff from the informal learning organization plus one community partner) to join a cohort learning journey that includes monthly virtual sessions, two multi-day workshops in Bend, Oregon, and hands-on support to design and implement a program in your own community. Participation is free. We cover all travel expenses and provide a $2,500 stipend for your local program. You'll gain practical skills, build lasting partnerships, and join a regional network of peers working in rural contexts.

Application deadline EXTENDED to Sunday, May 17th.
