<p class="MsoNormal">Oregon’s heritage collections have many treasures. Still, you probably would be surprised by what some museums, libraries and archives have in their collections. The
<a href="http://mindyourcollections.org/">Mind Your Collections</a> website highlights this month a treasure from the Lane County Historical Museum that you will be surprised is in a museum’s collection.<o:p></o:p></p>

<p class="MsoNormal">In its continuing quest to reach net zero energy consumption, <a href="https://www.tamastslikt.org/">Tamástslikt Cultural Institute</a> in Pendleton is building two solar carports in its parking lot. This follows installation of a wind
turbine last year. <br>

With a portion of a grant from Pacific Power Blue Sky of Oregon for $350,000 and a cash award from the Energy Trust of Oregon in the amount of $78,138, Tamástslikt started construction this week on two 123kW solar carports. The project is expected to be completed
by March 30. <br>

The solar panels were manufactured in Hillsboro and will produce about 140,000kW hours of electricity per year - enough to power 13 average Northwest homes.
