The COVID-19 pandemic has affected everyone and every organization in an unprecedented way. The extent of the impact is still unfolding. With current COVID-19 financial aid running out, we want to make sure that heritage is represented
in any future recovery efforts, funding, and decision-making. In order to do that, we need data!

Overview

We will be sending out a total of three surveys over the course of the next 8 months to capture data from March 2020-June 2021 to understand the progression of impact and recovery. We need you to participate so we can capture as much information
as possible. The information will be used in statewide disaster planning and shared with other heritage service agencies and organizations. We will only share specific organization information and stories with permission.

Now, because this information is so important, we are asking for a lot of it. This survey could take 20-30 minutes. While that seems like a long time, it is necessary to get this information so that we can relay the reality of how COVID-19
has impacted and continues to impact heritage into 2021. To help complete the survey faster, below is some of the information you might want to have on hand before starting the survey:

the Oregon State Fair, Medford’s Pear Blossom Festival, the Pendleton Round-Up, and the Woodburn Fiesta Mexicana.

The Christmas Ships Parade began with one decorated sailboat in 1954 and has since grown to over 70 participating boats. The entirely volunteer operated event runs for 15 nights during December and travels
the Willamette and Columbia Rivers in the Portland Metro area providing opportunities for communities to view it from the river front, restaurants, parks, neighborhoods and waysides along the rivers. Several cities along the rivers have tied their holiday
events to the parade schedule.

can see the boats up close, meet the boat owners, and learn about boat safety. Parade volunteers also partner with various charities throughout the year such as Fallen Firefighters, Ronald McDonald House, William Temple House, Portland Fire & Rescue Toy and
Joy Makers, and Columbia River Fire & Rescue Toy N Joy and Holiday Hope.

has been due to WWI and WWII. This may be one of the few designated events that can safely proceed with their regular events with some minor safety modifications per state guidelines. While the parade will run as normal, all Meet & Greet events and open house
activities are canceled for the 2020 parade season. As always, it is possible that individual parade night cancellations may occur due to unsafe weather conditions. This is unrelated to the pandemic. Notification of any cancellations will be posted at

Advocating for allyship and diversity is necessary, but not sufficient. What does dismantling structural racism and other oppressions look like in our work? And what actions can each sector―education, government, nonprofits, and private
firms―take in creating and sustaining a more just field?

Learn how to move beyond allyship and become an advocate and partner in preserving Latinx history, places, and communities. A panel of scholars and practitioners will present experiences and strategies drawn from their respective careers in the profession.
Attendees will also hear how Latinx/a/os are changing the business of saving places.
This event requires registration. All proceeds will benefit Latinos in Heritage Conservation’s paid internship program.
