The Gordon House is a historic house museum designed in 1957 by Frank Lloyd Wright (1867-1959), an American architect whose career spanned more than 70 years. The House is built in Wright’s Usonian style, a style he developed as an affordable,
efficient housing alternative for the middle classes. In 1963-64 the Gordons had the house built on what was their rural farm property along the Willamette River, near Wilsonville, OR. The house was sold to non-family owners; consequently moved to its present
site near the Oregon Garden in 2001, and opened as a museum in 2002. Approximately 6,000 visitors from across the country and the globe visit the site each year. The house museum not only offers tours but is available to rent for a variety of occasions and
has been the site of weddings, receptions, dinner parties, celebrations of life, fundraisers, and concerts. One of the primary goals in filling this position is to hire a highly-skilled Manager who will become a vital element of a small but devoted team of
staff, volunteers, and Board. Our new Manager will champion the mission of this organization by being dedicated to the preservation of the Gordon House and to educating the public about Wright’s architectural principles.
