[HistoricCemeteries] Metal theft law

The legislative committee of the Cemetery Association of Oregon is looking for information regarding metal theft in cemeteries.

During the 2009 legislature, Senate Bill 570 " The metal theft bill" and a few related bills passed made sweeping changes to the way metal salvage yards ran their business and most importantly changed the crimes of theft of metal's such a bronze markers , vases, etc. in cemeteries were handled.

With the passage of Senate Bill 570, a bill which the Cemetery Association Of Oregon fully supported we would like to get some feedback on how these new laws have effected your location.

Please take a minute and let us know if theft has decreased in your cemeteries or any other information on how this bill may have helped.We would like to share any information you may have with the sponsors of the bill.
