Bob Keeler attended the Association for Gravestone Studies conference earlier this month in New Jersey. During the week-long event he saw slate carving demonstrations, learned about the history of the hearse and gained an understanding about the process for organizing, planning and carrying out preservation efforts in historic cemeteries.
