Subject: [HistoricCemeteries] National Cemetery Conference in Oregon planning meeting
The Association for Gravestone Studies is holding its next Annual Conference at Willamette University in Salem, Oregon, June 18-23, 2013. Conference co-Chairs are Judy Juntunen from Corvallis and Bob Keeler from Portland. We are having an initial planning meeting in Salem on Monday, August 13th to launch this project--the first time AGS has met in the West in more than a decade!
If you would like to take part in showcasing Oregon's historic cemeteries and your successes in preserving them as a vital part of our communities and cultural heritage, come to this gathering and help us organize the conference.
Our goal for this planning meeting is to interest volunteers in leading key sections of the conference activities. These are:
Registration
Vendors' Tables
Cemetery Bus Tours
Classroom/Audience Participation Sessions
Hands-On Workshops
Evening Formal Lectures
Silent Auction
Late Night Informal Slide Shows
Each of these is essential to making this conference a successful and memorable one. Please join us in Salem on August 13th. We need your help!
August 13, 1:00pm
