HELP WANTED-CEMETERY ADMINISTRATOR
The historic Eugene Masonic Cemetery is seeking an
Administrator/Sexton to assume the following duties:
· Understand and work with the State Cemetery & Mortuary Board
and other State commissions to include reporting and maintaining current
licensing.
· Understand Oregon's laws relating to the operation of an
historic cemetery.
· Provide service to new and existing plat owners as needed
including answering concerns and inquiries.
· Maintain operational relations with Temple Beth Israel, local
funeral homes & monument contractors.
· Coordinate all sales and burial activities with landscape
staff.
· Prepare for and attend funerals as needed.
· Record and maintain death & interment records as required by
the State of Oregon for the cemetery,Scatter Garden and Hope Abbey
Mausoleum.
· Keep records of sales, and issue deeds to plat owners.
· Maintain communication with & provide support for the Board
of Directors.
· Must have ability to physically navigate cemetery grounds
which is hilly and rough in places.
· Must possess good interpersonal skills.
· Must have computer skills to include email, word processing,
spreadsheets and databases.
This is a paid position of 44 flexible hours per month, and consists of
a fixed, but adjustable hourly rate. Flexible availability is necessary
for duties that may occur outside normal working hours (sales,
interments, etc.).
Additionally, the successful candidate will, on a 15% commission basis
sell plats, crypts and niches, scatter rights and plaques. Discharge of
this duty requires many of the abilities stated above.
