[HistoricCemeterieslistserv] Mike Gushard joined Oregon Heritage this week

Mike Gushard joined Oregon Heritage this week as the heritage outreach specialist.

He previously worked in Honolulu where he was the Architecture Branch Chief at the Hawai'i State Historic Preservation Office. In this role he was responsible for managing all professional staff and programs related to above-ground cultural resources in the islands.

Before leaving for Hawai'i, Gushard lived here in the Northwest, graduating from high school in Salem and attending both undergrad and graduate school at the University of Oregon.

In his free time, Gushard is president of DoCoMoMo-Hawai'i, the Pacific Island chapter of an international non-profit dedicated to the preservation and documentation of modern art and architecture. He is also a aboard member of the Recent Past Preservation Network, a national preservation advocacy.
