To Oregon Mortuary & Cemetery Board Interested Persons:
I hope that you all are doing well & that you are safe and able to avoid the unhealthy air quality as best as possible.
OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT (OEM)
The Office of Emergency Management's dedicated wildfire resource webpage<https://wildfire.oregon.gov/> includes a link<https://wildfire.oregon.gov/county-resources> that provides information/alerts based on county - from this webpage, you can access announcements for specific counties & sign up for emergency alerts.
Another extremely helpful resource is the State of Oregon Fires and Hotspots Dashboard<https://experience.arcgis.com/experience/6329d5e4e13748b9b9f7f33f06a3c376/>, which shows that there are currently 29 active fires in the state & approximately 843,512 acres have burned.
One thing that will continue to impact us all for an unspecified period of time - even after all of the fires are under control - is the air quality.
This link<http://oregonsmoke.blogspot.com/> provides a map of the current air quality & information about protecting your health and other relevant topics.
Additionally, the OEM's webpage<https://wildfire.oregon.gov/> includes information/recommendations on the following:

MOBILE MORGUE SET UP IN LINN COUNTY
As reported in The Oregonian<https://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/2020/09/state-opens-mobile-morgue-for-victims-of-oregon-wildfires-10-confirmed-dead-and-50-missing.html> and covered by national new outlets such as CNN<https://www.cnn.com/2020/09/15/us/oregon-fires-deaths-missing/index.html> and The Weather Channel<https://weather.com/news/news/2020-09-14-western-fires-california-oregon-washington-updates>, the first mobile morgue in Oregon's history has been set up in Linn County.
Here is a KOIN news story<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y3wuR4j-aeI> about the mobile morgue - at approximately 0:34 of the story, you will see one of our licensees, Deon Strommer, who is a member of DMORT (Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team).
WAIVER OF FEES FOR OBTAINING CERTIFIED COPIES OF OREGON VITAL RECORDS
The following email was sent yesterday (September 15th) by Jennifer Woodward, the State Registrar:
Dear Vital Records Partners,
Many Counties and the Oregon Health Authority are responding the Governor's Executive Order 20-35 related to wildfire response. Oregon families may have lost all vital documents in the wildfires. Family members may also have died. One way we can help Oregonians who have been affected by the fires is to provide them certified copies of vital records free of charge.
The Center for Health Statistics has issued temporary rules that pertain to the waiver of fees for obtaining certified copies of Oregon vital records requested by individuals or families who had loss of property or life associated with the wildfires under the Office of the Governor State of Oregon Executive Order No. 20-35.
A search and issuance of up to three (3) certified copies of a birth, death, marriage, divorce, domestic partnership or dissolution of domestic partnership will be waived if the search or issuance is requested in connection with Executive Order 20-35. All other fees outlined OAR 333-011-0340 (4) through (20)<https://secure.sos.state.or.us/oard/displayDivisionRules.action?selectedDivision=1226> continue to apply.
The temporary rule is effective September 14, 2020 until March 1, 2021.
Funeral directors and customers need to list the reason for needing the record as "Executive Order 20-35" or "Oregon 2020 Wildfires" when ordering death records.
FAQs related to the temporary rule are attached for your information. The Temporary Administrative Order<https://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/RULESREGULATIONS/SiteAssets/Pages/index/PH_63-2020.pdf> has the statement of need and justification and the full text of the temporary rule. The following web page has information about the new rules as well as some FAQs.

Please contact me at Jennifer.A.Woodward at dhsoha.state.or.us<mailto:Jennifer.A.Woodward at dhsoha.state.or.us> if you have any questions.
All of us are experiencing challenging times and I hope this is one small way we can help Oregonians who have been affected by the wildfires.
The Center for Health Statistics has a dedicated webpage<https://www.oregon.gov/oha/PH/BIRTHDEATHCERTIFICATES/GETVITALRECORDS/Pages/Vital-Records-Fees-for-Oregonians-Affected-by-the-Wildfires-under-Executive-Oregon-No.-20-35.aspx> that provides additional information on this topic.
If you have any questions about what I've presented in this email, please feel free to contact me.
Thank you & have a peaceful week.
