My family loves to visit historic cemeteries and we have family buried at Riverside in Albany. I got on this list years ago just because I was interested in what’s going on with them, but I’m not active. My daughter is in high school and needs a project— she’s genuinely interested, has time and it would look great on her college applications. Does anyone have an idea that we could tackle? We live in West Linn but are interested in Riverside in Albany as well.

One thing that is of particular interest is coming up with a plan that would allow people to volunteer in their own time. It’d be great if people could go to a spot and work whenever they have time. I follow the Good Cemeterian and I’m inspired to clean graves but don’t want to break the rules. Does anyone have thoughts related to this? Some way to encourage good work in a safe way?

Thanks!

Projects funded in the past include marker repair workshops, fencing, signs, interpretive panels and brochures, security lighting, access improvements, records management, and more.
