Historic cemeteries commission meets April 17 in Forest Grove


SALEM, Oregon - The Oregon Commission on Historic Cemeteries (OCHC) will meet in Forest Grove at the Old Train Station and Museum, 1936 19th Avenue, and via online meeting on April 17 at 9:30 a.m. The agenda includes discussion of cemetery record preservation, a presentation from the Oregon Mortuary and Cemetery Board on operating cemetery requirements, and a presentation from Oregon State Archives on cemetery related records and support for local governments and special districts. State law established the seven-member Commission <https://www.oregon.gov/oprd/OH/Pages/Commissions.aspx#OCHC> to maintain a listing of all historic cemeteries and gravesites in Oregon; promote public education on the significance of historic cemeteries; and help obtain financial and technical assistance for restoring, improving and maintaining their appearances. Oregon Mortuary and Cemetery Board meets April 9 in Portland


The Oregon Mortuary & Cemetery Board (OMCB) will be holding its next regularly scheduled board meeting on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the Portland State Office Building in Room 1D (800 NE Oregon Street, Portland, OR 97232) - General Session will begin at 9:00am.
