role of thought and ideas in our lives. Public Program<BR>Grants between
$1,000 and $10,000 are awarded once a year. Public<BR>program grant letters of
interest are due October 31, 2011 and full<BR>proposals are due December 15,
2011. Responsive Program Grant proposals<BR>requesting up to $1,000 are
accepted on a rolling<BR>basis and are awarded monthly.<BR><BR>Heritage
Programs<BR>Grants<http://www.oregonheritage.org/OPRD/HCD/FINASST/grants.shtml><BR>of
Oregon Parks and Recreation Department offers several grants to<BR>support
history and heritage related grants in Oregon.<BR><BR>Heritage Grant Program -
Administered by the Oregon Heritage<BR>Commission, it provides matching grants
to non-profit organizations,<BR>federally recognized tribal governments and
local governments for<BR>projects that conserve, develop or interpret Oregon’s
heritage.<BR><BR>Oregon Museum Grant Program - Also administered by the Oregon
Heritage<BR>Commission, it offers matching grants to public and non-profit
heritage<BR>museums that meet certain qualifications. The grants support
Oregon<BR>museums in projects for the collection and management of
heritage<BR>collections, for heritage-related tourism, and heritage education
and<BR>interpretations.<BR><BR>Oregon Historic Cemetery Grant Program -
Administered by the Oregon<BR>Commission on Historic Cemeteries (OCHC), it
offers grants to non-profit<BR>organizations, federally recognized tribal
governments, local<BR>governments and private individuals for projects
relating to protection<BR>and security, restoration and preservation,
education and training,<BR>research and interpretation in historic
cemeteries.<BR><BR>Preserving Oregon Grant Program - Administered by the State
Historic<BR>Preservation Office (SHPO), it offers matching grants for
rehabilitation<BR>work that supports the preservation of historic resources
listed in the<BR>National Register of Historic Places or for significant
work<BR>contributing toward identifying, preserving and/or
interpreting<BR>archaeological sites.<BR><BR>Oregon
Arts<BR>Commission<http://www.oregonartscommission.org/support_for_the_arts/grants/grant_orgs.php><BR>offers
a variety of matching grants to support arts programming in<BR>Oregon. Grant
programs are supported with general funds from the State<BR>of Oregon and the
Oregon Cultural Trust, and federal dollars from the<BR>National Endowment for
the Arts.<BR><BR>Cultural
Tourism<BR>Grants<http://www.oregonartscommission.org/support_for_the_arts/grants/grant_orgs.php><BR>support
projects and partnerships in Oregon that positively impact<BR>arts-based
cultural tourism activities.<BR><BR>Access Reimbursements Grants will help
offset the expenditures of<BR>specific access expenses incurred by Oregon’s
nonprofit arts<BR>organizations, to ensure public access to all individuals
who want to<BR>participate in an activity of the organization.<BR><BR>Arts
Recognition grants are $1,000 awards that recognize to exemplary<BR>arts
organizations that have a record of excellence in programming,<BR>service and
organizational capacity, but have not received other Arts<BR>Commission
funding.<BR><BR>Operating Support grants support the operations of and public
access to<BR>the programs of Oregon's medium and large not-for-profit
arts<BR>organizations.<BR><BR>Arts Services grants provide operating support
to local and regional<BR>art councils, or other arts organizations that offer
regular, ongoing<BR>arts services to a broad audience.<BR><BR>Arts Learning
grants support teaching and learning in and about the<BR>arts in K-12
schools.<BR><BR>Arts Build Communities grants recognize and support both the
arts in<BR>local communities and the involvement of the arts and artists
in<BR>community development. The program targets underserved
