Inflation and low CD interest rates are two factors that are slowly eroding away a cemetrry's ability to sustain itself. I've seen both cemetery in rural setting and in cities run out of money. The ones in a city have a chance as the city will maintain them as it is bad exposure if they do nothing. Rural ones many times have no one as a community doesn't exist. Our cemetery has enough money currently but the board made up of 70 plus age don't realise without increasing grave prices and administrative prices in 50 years they will have no funds. I put an Excel spread sheet that tracked each year taking into consideration of income and expenses.
